Paul Zimmerman is an urban activist and a founding member of Designing Hong Kong Limited, a not-for-profit organization promoting sustainable urban planning in Hong Kong (www.designinghongkong.com). He is also Vice-Chairman of the Coalition on Sustainable Tourism, Member of Heritage Watch and Save The Street Market, Non-Executive Director of the Business Environment Council and representative for The Society for the Protection of the Harbour on the Harbourfront Enhancement Committee. Paul arrived in Hong Kong in 1984 and founded his own company, The Bridge Design, an identity and corporate literature design company which he sold in 1997. Since 2000, Paul has advised organizations on strategy and policy development and is currently a Director of Jebsen Travel Limited. Paul has a Masters in Social Science (Economics) from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In September 2009, he commenced studies in Transport Planning at The University of Hong Kong.
