On the 25th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, The Skyscraper Museum will present a program of reflection: a special violin concert by the duo Miolina in our WTC gallery. At 2pm, the violinists Mioi Takeda & Lynn Bechtold will offer an hour-long meditative performance of both somber and uplifting pieces that remind us of the strength and resiliency of New York City in the wake of the tragedy. Visitors can come and go at their leisure.

Miolina will feature works by: Anna Clyne, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Fritz Kreisler, Orlande de Lassus, Astor Piazzolla, & Max Richter, as well as various folk tunes and spirituals.

Before the concert, at 1:15pm, join museum Director & Curator Carol Willis for a tour of the World Trade Center gallery. Learn about the history of the site before and after 2001 and discover in-depth the models of the Twin Towers and the new One World Trade Center in the Museum’s collection.

No RSVP is required for these programs. Tour space is limited to 20 people, first-come-first-served. The concert is come-and-go as you please.
