Cinco de Mayo (the Fifth of May) commemorates the day in 1862 that Mexico defeated the French Army, paving the way for its independence! To celebrate Mexico and its traditional architecture, join us to learn about the pyramids of the Aztecs and Mayans. In these ancient Mesoamerican cultures, step-pyramids connected the earth to the sky, the gods, and the cosmos. After the presentation, kids will work with cardboard to create their own pyramids that reach toward the sun and the moon!
