The Exchange 106

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Exchange 106 is located in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, with a population of 1.76 million. Originally intended to be the country’s tallest building in Malaysia at 1,614 ft., The Exchange 106 topped out in 2018 at 1,483 ft. / 452 m., slightly shorter than the 1998 twin Petronas Towers. The skyscraper is the centerpiece of the Malaysian government’s efforts to create a new financial center named the Tun Razak Exchange after Malaysia’s second Prime Minister. Though racked by financial scandals in 2015, the project is scheduled to open in 2019.

Primarily office space, the building also includes 100,000 ft2. of retail space on two lower floors, a lobby on the 57th floor for sightseeing, and 92 floors of office space. The tower is designed to be striking, with a sleek, reflective blue glass façade and a 12-story clear glass crown. The dazzling glass crown will be LED-illuminated at night.
