Nanning, China
Planned as a leading business development in Nanning, a rapidly developing city with a population of 4 million in Guangxi province, Nanning China Resources Tower aims to establish a high standard for a commercial and residential building to attract international attention. The mixed-use tower is a central hub for public transportation, which offers pedestrian paths to adjacent buildings as well as internal access to local subway services. Surpassing the 490m Nanning Logan Century 1, the 445m tower will become the tallest building in the city and establish a distinguished identity upon its completion in 2019.
The skyscraper provides high-end office space as well as a Shangri-La hotel on the upper floors. The south-facing lobby and open landscape plaza connect the podium which features a retail complex. The massing of the building tapers back to maximize sunlight and views on rising floor plates, resulting in a sleek and efficient form. The angled geometries of the facade integrate with ceramic patterns to enhance the energy performance of the building, showcasing the city’s vision of a sustainable urban future.
