Dubai, UAE
Located on the Southeast coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai, the largest and most populous city of the seven United Arab Emirates (UAE), has a population of more than 3 million and is the major business hub of the Middle East. Dubai developers have embraced skyscrapers to put their city on the map, not only with the Burj Khalifa, the current world’s tallest building but with clusters of supertalls, such as Dubai Marina. The Elite Residence building is one of the groups of towers on the “world’s tallest block.”
Currently, the fifth-tallest building in Dubai at 1,250 ft. / 381 m., the Elite Residence just passes our threshold for the supertall category. As its name suggests, the slender tower is purely residential: it features 697 apartments on 76 of its 87 floors, while the other 11 floors house amenities such as pools, a business center, restaurants, and supermarkets.
