Located at the heart of the Central Business District of Beijing, CITIC Tower is expected to become the tallest skyscraper in the capital city with a height of 528 m. Situated to the east of the city center, Beijing CBD occupies 3.99 km² in the Chaoyang District. The tower is rooted in a vast underground transportation network spanning the CBD core.
The mixed-use tower includes eight levels below ground and a mega tower of 108-floors providing office space, luxury apartments, a hotel and a private club with a gross floor area of 350,000 m². The tower will primarily be used to house the headquarters of CITIC Group and CITIC Bank, while the remaining spaces will be leased to tenants.
The tower’s profile gently rises and curves around a square structural core, while its floor plates are squares with rounded corners. The form resembles a zun, an ancient Chinese wine vessel which inspired the building design. The tower is popularly known as China Zun.
