New York, USA
Completed in 2019, the 73-story office tower 30 Hudson Yards is the tallest structure in Hudson Yards, the massive commercial development built on a platform over the west side rail yards in Midtown Manhattan. Rising to 1,270 ft., the tower also features an observation deck with a balcony at a height of 1,104 ft. Designed by architect KPF, the skyscraper’s angular design, with a dramatic diagonal edge tipping towards the Hudson River, is the taller of the pair of high-rises in the complex that also includes a lower retail section. The neighboring tower, 10 Hudson Yards, leans away from the river and towards the city: together, the forms, though opposing in direction, create a visual rhyme through their similar diagonal tilt.
30 Hudson Yards will serve as an office building primarily for media and entertainment companies. Positioned near the High Line, the Hudson Yards development, the largest private real estate development in the U.S., includes several parks, residential towers, office space, luxury shops, dining, as well as an innovative multimedia arts space, The Shed, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
