Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Located on the Southeast coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai, the largest and most populous city of the seven United Arab Emirates (UAE), has a population of more than 3 million and is the major business hub of the Middle East. Dubai developers have embraced skyscrapers to put their city on the map, not only with the Burj Khalifa, the current world’s tallest building but with clusters of supertalls, such as Dubai Marina. 23 Marina is one of the group of towers crowded onto the “world’s tallest block.”
23 Marina is currently the fourth-tallest building in Dubai at 392 m. / 1,287 ft. Like many of its Dubai Marina neighbors, it is purely residential, with 289 apartments on its 88 floors. The tower’s shaft is decorated in white cladding and blue glass composed into several sections of varying patterns that incorporate multiple floors and balconies. A triangular canopy covers the rooftop terrace.
