Logan Century Center 1

Nanning, China

Nanning Logan Century 1 sits in the core of the business district in the Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, a city of 7 million people in 2016, with 4,037,000 in its urban area.

The 390 m. tall mixed-use tower consists of office space, an observation deck, and a hotel. The surrounding development consists of a 170 m. tall serviced apartment tower, underground shops and parking space, as well as a 2,000 m² business sky-park with an outdoor podium and green space for recreational and social uses.

The curtain wall employs aluminum vertical fins for both decoration and reduction of solar heat gain. The rectangular form of the tower segments into four parts – each resembles a blooming flower petal. At the top, the petals appear as a lotus flower in full bloom and incorporate a helipad within them.
